Can I "give" a list to someone, not just share?

Hi, all! I'm familiar with how the sharing process works, but I'm wondering if I can "give" a list to someone as opposed to sharing it. If I don't want to collaborate, but instead want someone to benefit from me inputing information into a list that they can then own their own version of. Can I send that to a person and be done with it...without losing the original list myself?
Thanks so much!

Thank you for reaching out to us and I’d be happy to help!
In this case, I recommend you to first share the list, then ask the other people to make a duplication. After everyone has their own copy, you can remove them from the shared list.

Please note: the copy will not include the original’s File attachments and Comments.
Hope this helps. If you have other questions, please let me know. Have a great day!
