Items Disappearing

Notes from my lists are disappearing. These notes are very crucial to the operation of my business. I have logged out, restarted the app, and logged back in. Nothing. What can I do?

Also having this problem with missing notes. Missing both in app and web application. Also missing subtasks for tasks. This is vital for a personal and professional system. Do you have a solution for this problem?

are those affected tasks recurring tasks? If so, can you check in the already completed tasks if notes and subtasks are still there?

yes: those affected are the recurring tasks. yes: the subtasks are in the completed tasks.

Yes they are recurring tasks and yes they are in the checked off ones from before 7/6. After 7/6 all recurring notes are gone. They do not carry over.

Could you please mark the completed task back to uncompleted and complete it again? Does the newly created task contain subtasks and notes?

If it doesn’t solve the problem, I’m afraid you need to add the subtasks manually. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Same issue here: Recurring tasks disappear (which is not the first time this happens), but usually after quitting and restarting the app they are back... Not this time around: Tried restarting the app (Mac Desktop version) several times.

This issue has started happening to me today as well. The tasks are not recurring tasks. Items are just disappearing like they were deleted and are not in completed tasks

I have the same problem with non-repeating tasks. Today tasks disappeared shortly after adding them or changing the due date.

Running desktop application on Mac OS10.10 and app on iPhone. Desktop also not seeing changes made on phone.

So far I have tried syncing both from the phone and desktop, and restarting the app.

Can you recommend any other solutions?

I'm having a similar issue with attachments staying on a recurring task. I upload the attachment through website on windows 10 to a recurring task however if I select it complete, the task reappears but without the attachment and I have to manually attach it again. Is there a solution?

I definitely have decided to quit Wunderlist after having lost 2 notes edition.
It's not a task or a subtask that dissapears and apeears again. I really lost my full day editions. I was editing the notes inside a task and saving multiple times along the day. That happened on my iPhone (iOS11 first time and iOS12 now). Than when I arrived at home and tried to see my edited notes on Wunderlist for Windows 10 (Windows Store App), it seems that it was synced with the PC that was outdated. Quiting Wunderlist and not even thinking to use To-do from Microsoft. I will try Todoist or Asana for long-term taks and definitely QuickeR! for short-term and important deadline tasks. No more MS for a while.

Sorry for the trouble.

When you were editing the note, was it in a bad connection condition? It often happens that people use Wunderlist offline or without phone signal, and then the edition got lost when they get connected again. As Wunderlist relies on the internet to sync the data, it’s important to keep connected.

We will work on it and improve the experience and I hope you can consider Wunderlist or To-Do again in the future.

Hi guys,

Having a similar issue here - I'm running the desktop app on Windows and the iOS app. I had entered a bunch of non-recurring tasks yesterday and today and now they're missing. I noticed it happened after my desktop app restarted and asked me to re-enter my login details - when I logged in again the tasks were gone from my desktop and iPhone app. I've logged into the web-based app but they're not there either.

Is there a way to recover those tasks?

I'm having this problem as well. Several items have lost their notes, and they've been replaced with this exact text:

This has happened to at least three of my tasks. They are not recurring. I tried restarting, tried logging into the wunderlist site, tried logging in on my PC and my android, and all I see is this text where those notes used to be.

3.6.27.0 is the PC version of Wunderlist that I first saw this problem on, but I've seen it on every platform, from my Mac at home, my work PC, my Android device, and the online portal.
There wasn't a specific situation. One day my notes were there, then I went to look at something a day or two later, they were replaced.

If you found the problem on the Windows 10 version, it’s possibly caused by a problem that we are working on: when you click a task with another task opened, the note will be replaced. To avoid it from happening, please exit the task detail page before opening another task.

As now you see the same content on all the platforms, I’m afraid it’s not likely that we can restore the original note as the replaced note is probably uploaded to our server.

Help, all my lists on Wunderlist have disappeared. When I logged in, I could see the list name for a split second then it went away. This happened on my desktop and confirmed the same thing on my iPhone.

Seems there’s stiil an issue with disappearing subtasks, notes, and attached files. Every time I use the app, whether on iPhone, Mac, or online, all data I’ve entered beyond the To Do name itself is gone. Not helpful at all. I’ve manually added this disappearing info back into my lists more than 3 times. At this point I’ll need to find an alternate app until the issue can be resolved.

This is really unbelievable. I thought I was just not hitting the checkbox on the mobile app's notes field and instead hitting back / leaving the app which was causing it to not save. (Different issue, notes fields should be save-as-you-type.) Finally I tried it and made sure I had hit the check box several times, and sure enough, when I go back later there are no notes.

Hi, I am also having trouble with notes disappearing on recurring tasks. Sometimes the notes stay and sometimes they don't; I'm not yet sure what causes this to happen, but it's very irritating since I often store important information in the notes section. Is there any known way to prevent this right now?

Hi Fangyuan,

It's happening in the web browser. I'm using Chrome on a MacOS system. The network is stable. I also use the iOS app, I just did a quick test and it seems like this problem may be limited to the browser version. In other words, I can still read the notes from completed recurring tasks on iOS, but they are not showing up on web.

Actually, the problem is not with the completed tasks - I am able to find notes I created in tasks that were completed. The problem is with recurring tasks. If I add a note to a recurring task and then complete it, I can find the note in the completed version of the task, but when the next recurring task appears, it does not have the note.

When a recurring task is completed, a new task will be created, including the note, but the web page loads first the title, due date, and reminder, and then the note. So it might seem that the note is not visible at the first glance, but you should be able to find it a moment later.

How long should it take for the note to show up? Just now I completed a recurring task and refreshed the page. It has been several minutes and the actual note has not shown up again. I completed the task in Chrome, and the note is not visible from either the browser or the iOS app.

Just to follow up, I checked back the next day and the notes had still not appeared. I found the errors under Inspect -> Element (there were a lot!) and sent some screenshots to support. Thank you for your help so far!
