Importing lists

BruceR — Dec 06, 2018 07:34PM CET

How do I import a list from another list manager. I can export the list in .csv format from the old manager and would like to import the full list into Wunderlist without retyping many entries.

I'm looking for a new list manager among all the competition. If Wonderlist wants to grow it's user base, you should make it easy to migrate. I'll keep looking!

Hello Chuck,

Thanks for contacting us; user feedback and suggestions are really important to us.

Your suggestion is really good and we will definitely consider it as a valid feature request.
However, we are excited to announce that we have just released the new Microsoft “To-Do” app. Since we’re focusing on adding new features there, we’ll consider your request for a future update of Microsoft To-Do.

Please try it out (get it from https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=846683) and let us know what feature you would like to see implemented soon on https://todo.uservoice.com/

Best regards,

Here is some feedback. Microsoft To Do which I have been using till now does not enable you to print, email or export your lists to pdf, word, etc., so it has become useless to me. Further, if Wunderlist allows you to print but not import it is useless to me and I will search for another non-Microsoft product that allows it. You should at least upgrade Microsoft To Do to allow emailing or pdf printing so the lists can be easily shared. I don't want to "invite" people to share my list and let them edit it, etc.. I want to be able to share and incorporate my Microsoft lists into my Microsoft Word documents and PowerPoint presentations.

Hello John,

Thank you for your feedback.

For the moment, it’s possible to share the lists to other apps on the Android version of To-Do: https://todosupport.helpshift.com/a/app/?p=web&l=en&s=tips-tricks&f=sharing-from-microsoft-to-do-on-android

I will also submit your feature request and hope it will be possible to print and email the lists on all the platforms in the future.

Thank you again for sharing your ideas and please feel free to contact us with more suggestions!

Hey, I found a 3rd party site that will let you import a list of text files into Wunderlist: Go to http://wunderlist-parser.herokuapp.com/parser and you can paste a list of text items, and it'll turn each line into a separate to-do in the list you choose. Not very feature-rich but it did the job for me!

I still don't get why Wunderlist is slowly dying without an acceptable replacement. Why was Wunderlist not just renamed to MS To Do? Now there are two applications which both don't match the usability of Wunderlist before the takeover. WTF?

Hello Rafael,

Thank you for sharing your opinion with us.

We wanted to take advantage of Microsoft’s resources to build connections into the app. To Do uses Exchange Online servers so we’re able to build integrations across the Microsoft ecosystem from the ground up. Microsoft To Do is also more inclusive with accessible design.

For To Do, what features would you like to see? There are a lot of areas where we’ve improved on Wunderlist, such as with flexible recurrence and search as well as being able to change backgrounds for each list.

Looking forward to your feedback!
