Hello AP,

Thanks for contacting us; user feedback and suggestions are really important to us.

Your suggestion is really good and we will definitely consider it as a valid feature request.
However, we are excited to announce that we have just released the new Microsoft “To-Do” app. Since we’re focusing on adding new features there, we’ll consider your request for a future update of Microsoft To-Do.

Please try it out (get it from https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=846683) and let us know what feature you would like to see implemented soon on https://todo.uservoice.com/

Best regards,
Fangyuan

Hi Fangyuan,

I suppose I did not explain my request detailed enough. You are offering two add-ins for MS Outlook which are really helpful. At the moment this add-in are only available for the online version of MS-Office (Office 365). Most likely the majority is running MS-Office on premise. Which means that you are not able to load the add-in at all.

If you check the MS store you will find this information as well. So all user not running Office 365 can’t use the add-in and have to do everything manually. Each time you want to create a entry within the Wunderlist out of Outlook you have to use copy and paste.

Do you have any plans to make the add-ins available to all office user or will it be limited to Office 365 user?

Cheers,
Alfons

Hello Alfons,

Thank you for getting back to me.

Unfortunately, our Outlook Add-in is based on Exchange Server, so it’s not possible to use it on premise. But you can use the Mail to Wunderlist function to transfer your emails into tasks: https://6wunderkinder.desk.com/customer/en/portal/articles/59709-mail-to-wunderlist

Please let me know if you have other questions.

Hi Fangyuan,

the Office 365 is a cloud-based solution which means you have the Exchange Server in the cloud. If you have this option, you can use the add-In. Most companies a running the exchange server locally (=on premise) and we do it in the same way. The add-in is not available to us. If I go to the MS-Store I will find following information:

Please note that Wunderlist for Outlook is only available on the new Outlook.com, and for Office 365 Subscribers using Outlook 2013, Outlook 2016 and the Outlook Web App-however it is not yet available for On Premise Office 365 Subscribers.

I understand that MS is pushing the cloud business, but why do you cut off a part of your possible customers? For you it makes no difference if I run my Exchange in the cloud or locally?

So, I’m using the same technology only on premise (local installed), but I can’t get the Wunderlist add-in. This is no technical issue it is some kind of arbitrary decision. Have you planned to make the add-in available to all your customers and if yes, when will it be available?

Hello Alfons,

Thank you for your feedback.

Now that the next evolution of Wunderlist is here in the form of Microsoft To-Do, Wunderlist will no longer receive any new features and will eventually be retired. It won’t happen in the next few months and we’ll be sure to give our users plenty of notice beforehand.

In the meantime, you can continue to use Wunderlist normally. Of course, we’d also love for you to try To-Do and let us know how you like it – and how we can improve it.

Regards,
Fangyuan
